This and That Three

Too many things to write and not enough order in my head to put anything together about any particular topic so this will just be a general update on everything.

Treasure hunts and birthdays are coming up. One very very soon, on April 2nd, and I will be severely lacking in minions as Benji is going to Stanford this week and is back on said day. Ugh. An important flatmate one on June 5th, it will also need a wine glass to go with it. And another one in a different country on June 1st. So if anyone has any useful treasure hunt tips, gimme gimme!

The adventure season has started and my head is filled with trips I want to go on and boats I want to make for the boating competition. Well, not of actual ideas for the boat. Unfortunately my head is non stop contemplating thinking about ideas but not actually thinking about them. Gah!
I’m also looking up tickets to random holiday destinations: Ireland in June, Israel/Jordan in June/July, Slovakia in, well, whenever there’s a reasonably priced ticket. I’m also going to Prague/Nymburk with the hockey team in June, so June is going to cost me… Now we need to shove in the infamous trip to the wallaby island one of the weekends…

You may wonder about Israel, especially if you’re name is Jelena (hi there!). I cracked an invite, as a +1, to a wedding on July 1st. This is scary because it will be crazy religious, as they do in Jerusalem, and all separate men and women shenanigans. Not only this will give me enough material to make fun of Benji and his background for the rest of my life, but it also gives me an opportunity to create numerous awkward situations by saying things like: “So why is it that you guys always have to have sex through a hole in the blanket, I mean, Benji really insists on doing it that way but I feel like I have to find a loophole while I’m here because I just find it plain silly!”
I am a bit freaked out by the fact that in this tropical climate I will have to be wearing a dress that covers knees, elbows and collarbones! On the other hand, I’m really looking forward to walking on the Dead Sea, and swimming with dolphins in the Red.

In other news, I got contacted by a husband of a third cousin once removed of mine (I think), thanks to my blog which I was convinced no one read (except the two regulars). Yay! There’s an opportunity to find out more about the Parnica folk! I really need to speak to mum soon. (Hint! Hint!)

And fortunately not much going on on the writing front so this section will be short and to the point! I dont have time!

Back with more next week!

Partying and reasons for doing so…

The Beagles won 12:1 in Bradford on Thursday night and we have safely returned to Edinburgh at stupid o’clock in the morning. Unfortunately Friday is also the day of Jenny’s magical creature party which I would normally just ignore and use the valuable time gained by doing so for sleeping. Yet I have spent monies and put effort into making my costume and I intend to show it off! I have decided to go for Vin and I am happy with the decision. My mum gave me an amazing tip on how to put my cloak together and it took no time at all. Other equipment will unfortunately remain unfinished or missing but I did what I could with the little time I had.

Well the party ended up being a total disaster for the following reasons:
– my rogue top, which is btw amazing, didn’t arrive until Saturday morning
– my pants were pants!!!
– for once, Edinburgh failed to be windy (or misty), this would have been a great advantage when taking photos under streetlights, the misty look would have been produced by itself and there would have been no requirement for me fluffing up my cloak like a hen in heat! We will have to have another go at this!
– Benji was too tall to be a dwarf!!! (I never thought this possible!)
– Whiski kept eating my misty cloak and throwing up!
– only one person recognised me,

Here’s a photo:

Introducing Beagles, Phoenixes, Drakes and other sports…

My uni ice-hockey team, the Edinburgh Beagles, beat the Hull Ice Hogs 3:1 in the season opener game last Wednesday night at Murrayfield Ice Rink.
My reccy ice-hockey team, the Edinburgh Phoenix, beat Edinburgh Lions 12:0 last Friday night.
I am only going to post about the games that either involve the Beagles (woof!), or ones I have actually played.

Also a major miscalculation on my part caused me to sign up for gym (I thought I was going to break even after four visits a months but actually it’s six), now if I don’t want to gym on weekends or hockey days that basically comes up to every second weekday. *sigh*

I neglected my blog yesterday. Shame on me! I got involved in yet another geeky role playing iPhone game. This one is called Earth and Legend and to be perfectly honest, it doesn’t compare with Aralon, my previous addiction. It has very few side quests that would help the character gain experience and is quite unbalanced in that the character must keep killing a weaker animal over and over again for no other reason than levelling up in order to possibly get another quest. Man, the number of wolves I have slaughtered last night… Went from level 11 to 20 on wolves only, there was no other way.
And I have to admit, I did like the funky hair colours available for the Aralon characters!
I yet have to decide which game’s graphics in prefer. Here they are:

I am over that now and ready to face another blogging week.
Although my flatmate Philipp seems to have just got a game I could get seriously addicted to… *sigh*
